Diane is a Certified Hand Therapist, and has been working with orthopedic and neurological injures in outpatient hand therapy for over 20 years. Around 5 years ago she realized she felt a pull toward working with older adults and began working with that population in assisted living facilities in addition to out patient hand therapy .
She specializes in musculoskeletal and neurological retraining of the upper body. She strongly believes in incorporating balance activities for anyone who has had or is at risk for falls.
Protocols include tendon repair, nerve repair and compression, tendonitis and other tendinopathies, sprains, strains and pain disorders, Osteo and Rheumatoid arthritis, biomechanics of work and leisure tasks, functional balance and posture, general strength and conditioning, compensatory strategies, energy conservation and joint protection.
Diane is able to fabricate same day custom orthotics and is proficient in evidence based modalities such as cold laser, ultrasound, electric stimulation, paraffin and fluidotherapy.
Diane is a graduate from NYU and is currently an adjunct professor at York College in the Occupational Therapy Department.
